Kl. 16 i Vargasalen: Ferske, røffe filminnslag og kunstnersamtale mellom filmskaper og kulturjournalist Ellen Lande og Torild Stray. Samtalen vil foregå på norsk. / Round 4 pm: Fresh, rough filmpieces and Artist conversation with film director and journalist Ellen Lande and Torild Stray. The conversation will be in Norwegian.
Utstillinga er open for publikum heilt fram til kl. 17 / The exhibition will be open for visitors until 5pm.

Torild Stray har stilt ut i New York og Noreg sidan tidleg 1990-tal. Hennar kunstnariske visjon og dedikasjon som målar har begeistra kritikarar og blitt godt motteke av internasjonale kunstsamlarar. Ho har motteke ei rekkje prisar og stipend, med anna The Agnus Gund Scholarship, The New York Times Scholarship, American Scandinavian Society Cultural Award og eit omfattande stipend frå Charles Revson Foundation. I 1998 deltok ho ved gjestekunstnarprogrammet til The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council og fekk slik åtgang til å måle New York City høgt oppe frå tvillingtårna i World Trade Center. Hovudarbeidet frå denne perioden, N.Y. Metamorphosis, ei fem meter lang kolteikning, blir i 2018 innlemma i den permanente samlinga ved National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Dette kunstverket stillast ut frå mars i år.
Etter ein lengre reise periode med reiser i Sør Øst-Asia, starta Stray si mangfaldige kunstutdanning. Fyrst på Strykejernet kunstskole, Oslo, 1987 -88, etterfulgt av Nordiska Konstskolan, Kokkola, Finland, 1988 -90 og studiar ved New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, 1990 – 94. Ho har også grunnfag i kunsthistorie frå Universitetet i Bergen, 1987.
Torild Stray bur og arbeider for tida på Vestlandet der ho har sitt hovudatelier i Bergen. Samstundes arbeider ho med diverse prosjekt og utstillingar i New York. «Showreel Obscura» vart nyleg vist på Kunstgarasjen i Bergen. I New York deltek ho for tida på årsutstillinga ved Sideshow Gallery og ved årets utgåve av Armory Show, der ho vert representert av De Sarthe Gallery.
 
Laurdag 7.april opnar Torild Stray utstillinga FLAUM i Galleri Hvelvet på Oseana. Flaum har fleire betydingar på norsk og engelsk, og kan lesast både bokstaveleg og metaforisk.

Torild Stray has held exhibitions of her art work in New York and Norway since the early 1990s. Her vision and commitment as a painter has brought her critical acclaim and a strong international following of collectors. She has been the recipient of many awards and scholarships, including The Agnus Gund Scholarship, The New York Times Scholarship, American Scandinavian Society Cultural Award, a Charles Revson Fellowship and The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Artist in Residence Program where she was granted permission to paint New York City from the 85th floor of the Twin Towers. Her main work from this period, N.Y. Metamorphosis, an almost five meter long charcoal drawing, will be included in the permanent collection of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, New York this year, and will be exhibited from March this year.
 
Following extensive travels in South East Asia,Stray attended The University of Bergen, The Nordic School of Art in Finland and The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. 
 
Stray currently resides and works in Western Norway and holds her main studio in Bergen. At the same time she works with projects and exhibitions in New York. «Showreel Obscura» was recently presented at Kunstgarasjen, Bergen. In New York she is currently taking part in the annual exhibition at Sideshow Gallery, and the Armory Show, where she is represented by De Sarthe Gallery.
 
Saturday April 7 she opens the exhibit FLAUM in Hvelvet Gallery at Oseana Art & Culture Center.
Flaum (English: Flood) holds several meanings in Norwegian and English and can be read both literally and metaphorically.
